About the Brighton Chalets

The Brighton Chalets are 5 separate buildings (6 separate units) located in the (very little) ski town of Brighton, UT. They are charming, cozy, and going to be PERFECT for our family reunion! Each building/unit has its own name. And they are all on the same small lot, so gathering will be easy, but people can have some privacy, as well.

The Chalets are usually rented out as individual units --mostly to skiers during the winters--so each building has its own kitchen and living area. And most living areas become sleeping quarters at night--and they have lots of roll-away beds.

Steve, Sandy and I went up there in August to check out the Chalets. Two of the units--the "Chalet" and the "Studio"-- were occupied, so we were unable to take photos of those.  But we took lots of pictures of the other 4 units.  Hopefully they will give you a good idea of what each building and room is like.

The house-keeper was in the middle of changing the linens when we barged in...but he promised that the beds do come with blankets and sheets :)

P.S. I'm Emily Ashworth Allred--Pete's daughter.  I've volunteered to help Steve out in the planning on this reunion.  I am by no means technically savvy, but i figured I could manage to at least put this blog together, in hopes that it would make communicating about the reunion little bit easier.

The Studio

We were unable to take pictures of the Studio.  Their website says is sleeps 6.  It has 1 Private Bedroom and 1 Balcony Bedroom.  1 Bathroom.  Full Kitchen.

The Chalet

We weren't able to get any photos of the Chalet during our visit, and the pictures on the official link aren't very helpful.  But here's what their website says about it:

Sleeps 8.  There are 3 Bedrooms + Double Bed in the Living Room.  1 Bathroom.  Full sized Kitchen
 
The master bedroom has a private 2-person jetted tub, fireplace, TV, and balcony. Two additional bedrooms plus a full bed in the living room gives everyone a good night's sleep. The front porch has a BBQ area with a super view of the mountain scenery removed from the road traffic. Most of our quests return repeatedly!

The Lodge

The "Lodge" sleeps 14 people. Of those--12 sleep in two "bunk rooms." You can see them in the second picture here. The other 2 people sleep in a room next two the bunk rooms, what is called the "Chaperons' Room."

On the first floor there is a good sized living area, a full kitchen and a pool table.  There's a large enclosed patio, as well.

The staircase is actually much more user-friendly than it appears in this photo. In fact, I only took this picture to show how shallow the steps are...but i fear i did the opposite :)

The Manor

The Manor has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms--all on the 1st floor.  The second (and top) floor has a 1500 sq ft Great Room with 5 couches, 2 tables with chairs, a full kitchen (with 2 sinks and 2 dishwashers!), a fireplace, pool table and 2 grills on the attached deck. This will likely be a common gathering place.

Two of the bedrooms have 2 queen beds in them.  The other 3 bedrooms have 1 king bed in them.  None of these bedrooms have TONS of floor space, but probably enough room for 1, maybe 2 sleeping bags, or one pack 'n play on the floor.

The Chateau

The Chateau has a unique set up. It has 3 "apartment" type units on the 1st and 2nd levels--called Aspen, Evergreen and Sunshine. These each have Living Areas, with roll-away beds in them. They each have a little Galley Kitchen, as well.   The Aspen and Evergreen "suites" both have very large bedrooms (with jacuzzi tubs in the bedroom)--there'd be enough room for 4+ sleeping bags/air mattresses, or pack 'n plays on the floor.  Sunshine has a master bedroom, but with little floor space

The third level has a large living area, access to the enormous deck, the kitchen, pool table plus the Master bedroom.

The 4th (and top) floor has 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bathrooms are in a little "hallway" between two of the bedrooms. These four bedrooms have some extra floor space for kids in sleeping bags or pack n' plays as well.

The Chateau sleeps 16 in standard beds, and there were more than 10 roll-away beds there.

The "Cottage" is very quaint. It's a 2 bedroom place that can sleep 6 in beds. There are 2 queen beds (in the 2 rooms) and 2 roll-away beds that can be set up in the living room. Each of the two rooms has just enough room for a pack 'n play. And i suppose if someone wanted to, they could set up a sleeping bag or two in the enclosed patio.
